Black and white portrait maternity photo in kansas city studio

Pregnancy is one of the most transformative seasons a woman will ever experience. It’s a time filled with anticipation, tenderness, and a kind of beauty that only exists for a short moment. As a maternity photographer, I’ve had the honor of witnessing that glow, that quiet strength, and the love that grows long before a baby ever arrives.

Maternity sessions aren’t just about pretty photos—they’re about celebrating the incredible journey your body is on and preserving a chapter of life that passes more quickly than we realize.

Why Maternity Sessions Matter

So often, I hear moms say, “I don’t feel like myself right now,” or “Maybe I’ll just skip photos this time.”

But here’s the truth:

You are more beautiful than you know.

You are creating life.

And you deserve to remember this season.

Your little one will one day look at these photos and see how deeply they were loved before they even existed outside your arms.

What a Maternity Session Feels Like

My goal is to make your session feel peaceful, slow, and effortless—never rushed or posed in a way that feels unnatural. Whether we’re outdoors at golden hour or in my softly lit studio, the focus is always the same: connection, emotion, and the quiet moments that speak louder than words.

I guide you every step of the way, from styling support to natural prompts that help you

relax and melt into the moment.

Nothing stiff, nothing forced—just you, your glow, and this fleeting season.

What to Wear: Soft, Timeless, & Effortless

Choosing outfits can feel overwhelming, so I’ve curated a maternity-friendly client closet of bump-flattering dresses in soft neutrals and flattering textures. These tones photograph beautifully and create that warm, dreamy aesthetic my clients love.

Whether you prefer something romantic and flowing or simple and minimal, we’ll find a look that feels like you.

The Best Time to Book

The ideal window for maternity photos is between 28–34 weeks, when the bump is beautifully round but you’re still comfortable moving and posing. If you're already past this window—don’t worry! Every pregnancy is unique, and we can create magic at any stage.

Why These Photos Become Priceless

Long after your baby has grown, after the nursery changes and the newborn outfits are tucked away, these images remain.

They become heirlooms.

You become a part of your baby’s story.

And you’ll be so grateful you said yes to documenting this chapter.
