As a photographer and mom, I've compiled some of the best ideas for capturing this momentous occasion. First birthdays are a milestone worth celebrating and remembering forever. It’s a special moment in your child's life, one that you want to capture beautifully.


Decorating the Space:

Simple is key when it comes to decorating the space for a timeless first birthday milestone session. I prefer to keep props minimal with a few balloons or a floral banner etc.. You can also add a touch of personality by incorporating your child's favorite toys or stuffed animals into the setup.


Capturing Candid Shots:



The key to capturing the best candid shots is to let your child be themselves. Let them play and explore the space without trying to pose them too much. Get down on their level and capture those spontaneous moments of joy and wonder. I always make sure to have plenty of snacks and drinks on hand to keep them happy and comfortable throughout the session.


Your baby’s first birthday milestone is an important one, and capturing it with a photoshoot is a must.
