There are some love stories that just stick with you—and Chelsie and Austin’s is one of those. I had the absolute honor of photographing this sweet couple again, and this time… it was for something extra special: a surprise proposal at Lake Jacomo in Blue Springs, Missouri!

When Austin reached out and told me he wanted to propose, I couldn’t say “yes!” fast enough. Not only have I worked with Chelsie and Austin before (and completely adore them), but I also knew how deeply in love they are—capturing that on camera is truly effortless with these two.

We planned the session around golden hour, and let me tell you—Mother Nature did not disappoint. The sunlight danced perfectly through the trees, casting the most dreamy glow across the lake. It was one of those evenings where everything just clicked: the location, the light, and most importantly, the emotion.

The moment Austin dropped to one knee, Chelsie’s reaction was priceless. Genuine surprise, tears, laughter—and then the tightest embrace. Being there to witness and freeze-frame such a life-changing moment is something I’ll never take for granted.
